Emergency responders in Cheektowaga were called out to 160 calls for service on Tuesday, February 12, 2019.

7:28 am – A woman on East End Avenue told the police that they needed to respond to her house because her man was trying to sell her coats and she was going to kill him if they didn’t stop her.

8:30 am – A resident of Edgebrook was scammed out of a large amount of money.

10:42 am – The police assisted the Highway Department on Griswold Street.  A man was obstructing the plow truck.

10:50 am – Cleveland Hill firefighters responded to the westbound Kensington Expressway after a car slid off the roadway.  One person was transported to the hospital with a hand injury.

11:30 am – The school liaison at Cleveland Hill followed up on a recent fight.

1:16 pm – South Line firefighters responded to Sherry Drive to assist a 56-year-old unresponsive man.  The man was found to be dead, and the police opened an unattended death investigation.  The scene was cleared just around 4 pm.

1:36 pm – A panhandler was arrested for trespass outside the Family Dollar on Genesee Street.  The man has been warned several times in the past few days to knock off his actions and move along.

3:05 pm – A dog was hit by a car on Danbury Drive.

3:13 pm – Bellevue and Forks firefighters investigated a faint odor of electrical burning on the first floor of Elderwood Skilled Nursing on Bennett Road.  Crews could not locate a source of fire, and the scene was turned over to the maintenance workers at the facility.

3:13 pm – Two cars collided near 1126 Walden Avenue.  Rescue firefighters responded to the scene to help one person complaining of an injury.  The patient was transported to the hospital.

3:15 pm – The police responded to Citi Trends at the Thruway Plaza.  A manager and employee were arguing inside the store.  One of the parties involved agreed to leave the store.

4:19 pm – A resident at Maple Apartments on Union Road got fed up with her neighbor telling her how to run her life, so she called the police.  The police counseled both parties the best they could.

4:35 pm – An ambulance transported a woman from the police cellblock for a medical evaluation.  The woman became uncooperative on the way to the hospital and started fighting inside the ambulance during the ride to the hospital.  An officer jumped on board and rode to the hospital.

4:49 pm – An intoxicated woman was arrested at Rogers and Dick for drunk driving.  She was also driving with a suspended registration.

5:34 pm – A traffic stop on Walden Avenue yielded arrests for two warrants and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

9:44 pm – The police arrested a drunk driver on Genesee Street after a 911 caller reported seeing the man passing out at the wheel.

10:17 pm – A vehicle was burglarized on Francis Avenue.  Change was stolen.

10:24 pm – A 77-year-old man died on Poinciana Parkway.
