Cheektowaga first responders attended to 207 calls for service on Thursday.
9:13 am – Forks firefighters responded to a home on Nassau Lane to investigate a car fire. The fire was extinguished by the homeowner before firefighters arrived.
10:34 am – Cleveland Hill firefighters made sure a fire on Treehaven Road was fully extinguished. The resident overcooked food in the oven.
12:14 pm – A car was burglarized overnight on Ellen Drive. A rear window was smashed out, and a wallet was taken.
1:45 pm – A dog on the 200 block of Meadowbrook Parkway jumped a fence and tried to attack a neighbor’s dog. Animal control responded to investigate.
2:47 pm – A school bus on Zent Court needed the help of the police after a 14-year-old special needs child was physically fighting with everyone on the bus.
3:34 pm – Patrol officers assisted an Erie County Sheriff’s Deputy on Union Road after they pulled over a possible stolen vehicle. The deputy was assisted. CPD records did not state if the car was indeed stolen.
6:13 pm – A man on Groell Avenue collapsed while cutting a lawn. CPR was performed on the man before he was transported to South Buffalo Mercy under police escort.
8:28 pm – The police responded to the 7-Eleven store on Walden Avenue after a large fight broke out inside the store. Several people were throwing items at each other. A witness said a group of women left in a white car on Walden Avenue towards the city. The store was forced to close until 11 pm.
8:48 pm – Walden Galleria security called the police after a woman was jumped in the vicinity of the 5 level ramp. The victim had a cell phone stolen from a person known to the victim. She did not want the help of the police.
8:52 pm – Pine Hill firefighters helped to ventilate a house on Peachtree Road after a grease fire broke out in the kitchen. The fire was out before the arrival of firefighters.
