Emergency responders in Cheektowaga were called out to 162 calls for service on Thursday, March 7, 2019.

5:01 am – Sloan firefighters extinguished a garbage tote fire.

8:26 am – The police arrested a man after he broke into his soon-to-be-ex wife’s house on Danbury Drive and stole a commonly owned vehicle.  He was charged with harassment.

8:27 am – Hubcaps were taken from a vehicle on Hutchens Drive overnight.

9:50 am – A Ford Edge was stolen from Marne Road overnight. The police said it could be a possible repossession but the police department has no record, and the lender does not show it listed as a repossession.

11:50 am – The police checked a parking lot on French Road for a Toyota Camry that was towing a person behind it while sliding around the lot.

12:24 pm – Cleveland Hill firefighters found that a faulty stove was determined to be the cause of elevated carbon monoxide levels in a home on Tudor Road.

12:34 pm – An ambulance crew checked on a 19-year-old man in the police cellblock complaining of abdominal pain.  The man stayed at the police station.

1:05 pm – A person was hit by a vehicle on Union Road.  U-Crest firefighters responded to the scene and treated the patient before the victim was transported to the hospital.

1:46 pm – Two people were arrested at the Thruway Plaza Planet Fitness after they tried to defraud the business.

2:31 pm – U-Crest firefighters extinguished a car fire in a parking lot off Union Road.

2:41 pm – Two school buses collided outside Cleveland Hill schools.  No one was hurt.

3:22 pm – Pine Hill firefighters checked on a contained oven fire on Ivanhoe Road.  The fire chief said there was no smoke or fire and he wasn’t sure why the resident called 911.

5:52 pm – A man violated a stay away order of protection and was arrested outside a store at the Thruway Plaza.

6:59 pm – The police applied for a warrant after a woman on Genesee Street said her baby’s father snatched her wig off her head.  The man was wanted for harassment.

8:26 pm – A woman was arrested for stealing merchandise from Walmart.

11:32 pm – A woman in the police cellblock was transported to ECMC to check on infected hands from IV drug usage.
