Emergency responders in Cheektowaga were called out to 161 calls for service on Thursday, March 14, 2019.

12:16 am – A 62-year-old woman on Alexander Avenue was transported to ECMC with burns after her oxygen caught fire from her stove.

1:46 am – An ambulance checked on a male prisoner at the police station who was complaining of chest pains and wanted a Nitro pill.  The man remained at the police station after an exam.

2:12 am – The driver of a Lincoln Navigator was pulled over on Maryvale Drive under the suspicion of drunk driving.  She was later charged with DWI, possession of marijuana, and driving without a valid driver’s license.

3:45 am – The police checked on a woman who was on her hands and knees near the David Street bridge on Kaufman Road.  She was very intoxicated and tried to take her dog for a walk.  The police took her home and had an ambulance check on her before releasing her into the custody of her daughter.

11:27 am – The police were notified of a fight between two kids in the JFK school cafeteria.  One student was removed from the school for the day.

11:50 am – The police and Rescue firefighters attended to a multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of Straley and Alexander Avenue.  One car ran a stop sign and caused the accident.  Five people were checked out by EMS but did not go to the hospital.

2:05 pm – A resident of Appletree Court said that she was scammed out of $1,000.

4:42 pm – Pine Hill firefighters responded to a home on Victoria Boulevard to investigate overcooked food.

9:32 pm – A 5-year-old boy fell at Walmart causing a facial injury.  The boy’s extended family wanted to fight with store employees, and the police responded.  An ambulance transported the boy to Children’s for treatment.

10:13 pm – A patrol officer stopped a man walking in the middle of William Street.  He was arrested three minutes for disorderly conduct.
