Cheektowaga Police Blotter: Thursday, February 28, 2019

Emergency responders in Cheektowaga were called out to 161 calls for service on Thursday, February 28, 2019.

4:06 am – A water main break was reported on Harris Court.

5:52 am – A water main break was reported on Temple Drive.

6:45 am – The police investigated a crash involving a school bus on Genesee Street.  The bus was rear-ended and a child was onboard.  No one was hurt.

7:39 am – An anonymous neighbor on Randy Way told the police that a drunk man was snow blowing several properties using his John Deer tractor.  He was said to be causing damage to neighbor’s lawns.  The police said there was no cause for the complaint.

9:39 am – A vehicle on Hedwig Avenue was ticketed for violating the alternative parking law.

9:52 am – An AMR ambulance was involved in a crash on Walden Avenue. No injuries were reported.

12:52 pm – A house on Santin Drive was egged overnight.

4:06 pm – Loss prevention from the Target plaza on Walden Avenue called the police after two men were fighting outside of a store.  The men were last seen walking towards Walden Avenue.  Police were unable to find the subjects.

4:52 pm – The police took a 5-year-old to Cleveland Hill School after he was found running on Harlem Road without shoes.  Mom was contacted and a police report was filed.

5:13 pm – Hy-View firefighters found a faulty store on Calla Way when they were dispatched to investigate a natural gas leak in the home.

6:27 pm – The police advised a resident on Hedwig Avenue to disconnect their washing machine from their sump pump after it was causing an ice dam in the street.  The code enforcement department was contacted to follow up with the resident.

7:13 pm – A woman was arrested at the Target Plaza on Transit Road for shoplifting.

8:18 pm – A porch pirate stole a package from a Cleveland Drive address.  The police issued a complaint slip so the resident can follow up with the shipping company.

9:54 pm – While at the Walden Galleria, a complainant went off the deep-end while a patrol officer was counseling him about a matter involving the man’s employer and his pay.  Additional officers were requested to respond.  The man calmed down and he was told the matter involving his pay was a civil matter.
