Cheektowaga Police Blotter: Thursday, February 22, 2018

First responders were called to 124 incidents on Thursday. Here are some of the issues they dealt with. 

12:57 am – A 25-year-old woman who was arrested for shoplifting from Walmart was also charged with narcotics possession.  She also had a warrant for her arrest out of Niagara Falls.

3:35 am – A drunk driver was arrested on the eastbound Interstate 90.

5:38 am – The police transported a woman from the Walden Galleria to a domestic violence shelter.

9:25 am – Customers at the Comfort Inn and Dingens Street were ejected for smoking pot inside one of the rooms.

10:58 am – The police assisted an AMR ambulance crew with a combative patient after suffering a seizure on Eastvale Court. The police rode in the back of the ambulance as they transported the patient to VA Hospital.

11:55 am -One person was arrested after shoplifting from Family Dollar on Genesee Street.

2:29 pm – Two women stole Nike and intimate apparel items from a store at the Walden Galleria. They took off in black Mercury Mountaineer.  Even though the subjects got away on the I-90, the police have the vehicle’s registered owner’s information.

3:33 pm – A police report was filed for reckless endangerment after a worker at Great Lakes Building Systems on Gruner Road told police a co-worker poisoned them last March.

4:28 pm – Money was stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Rowland Road.

4:37 pm – A store at the Walden Galleria filed a police report for grand larceny after two women stole jeans and sweatshirts valued at over $1,000.  No arrests were immediately made.

7:33 pm – Bellevue firefighters and Cheektowaga and Lancaster Police Departments attended to an overdose victim in the parking lot of 5100 Transit Road.  The victim was given a dose of Narcan, and an AMR ambulance transported the patient to St. Joe’s Hospital.

7:39 pm – The police attended to a domestic verbal dispute between a man and woman over a break up on Beale Avenue.  The male half left for the evening.

7:58 pm – Management at Zhang’s Buffet on Union Road called the police to say three subjects ate their food, said they did not like it and left refusing to pay.  The three adults and one child left in a 2008 Mazda but the police could not locate their vehicle.

10:37 pm – A garage band was told to pipe down on Wayne Terrace.

11:02 pm – Two snowblowers were stolen from a yard on Delray Drive.  A small white pickup truck was seen leaving the area.

11:30 pm – A Walmart employee was arrested for theft.
