First responders attended to 202 calls for service on August 9, 2018.
12:18 am – The police told a Hedwig Avenue man in his 20’s to quiet down after he was throwing items in his backyard.
4:38 am – Cheektowaga patrol assisted State Police in locating a suicidal man who was walking along the Thruway. He was later located at home on Harlem Road.
6:23 am – Many items were stolen from a car on David Avenue.
8:13 am – A resident of St. Joan Lane said someone broke all of her flower pots.
8:41 am – Patrol checked on a suspicious package on top of a Reiman Street resident’s garbage can. The box was empty.
9:07 am – A dog was hit by a car on the eastbound Kensington Expressway. The dog was taken to the emergency vet.
9:42 am – The police arrested a man who always stole a Slim Jim whenever he came into the Sunoco Mart at Union and Maryvale.
10:31 am – An employee at Ingersoll Rand suffered a finger amputation from an industrial accident. The victim was transported to ECMC.
1:20 pm – A worker on Genesee Street suffered burns to his face after blacktop exploded.
2:48 pm – A customer at the Transit Road Goodwill Store returned to try to spend an additional counterfeit bill. The police were able to arrest the subject.
3:41 pm – A Windwood Court resident reported their car stolen.
4:45 pm – Hamburg Police asked Cheektowaga to swing by a house in town to check for a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run at the fairgrounds.
6:47 pm – Patrol checked on chickens running loose on Victoria Boulevard.
7:52 pm – A person at the Thruway Plaza Burger King said their phone was stolen while they were in Town Park.
8:18 pm – Three people were arrested at Walden Galleria for shoplifting.
8:07 pm – Two people were arrested for shoplifting from the Dollar General at Airport Plaza.
10:54 pm – A group of three or four younger boys smashed out a window at Genesee Automotive Repair. They were spooked and ran off.
11:39 pm – A man is wanted after he came to a Euclid Avenue address and punched a woman in the face. She was transported to the hospital for treatment.
