Cheektowaga Police Blotter: Monday, March 4, 2019

Emergency responders in Cheektowaga were called out to 128 calls for service on Monday, March 4, 2019.

6:10 am – A broken down FedEx truck was towed from Gruner Road.  The police gave FedEx a few days to move the truck, but the company didn’t comply.

10:45 am – A resident of Sloan died a few weeks ago, and now his wife was trying to dispose of his 33 handguns.  The gun center will help the woman.

12:37 pm – Bellevue firefighters and American Medical Response treated a man who went into cardiac arrest in the parking lot of Western New York Immediate Care on Transit Road.  The victim was transported to St. Joes and later died.  A natural death report was filed by the police.

1:08 pm – Patrol officers investigated a report of a stolen vehicle at the Thruway Plaza.  An officer noted that the owner had the keys and they couldn’t find any broken glass.  Two minutes later the officer reported that the vehicle was found.  It was misplaced and not stolen.

1:56 pm – Doyle and Sloan firefighters investigated smoke in a room at Convenient Food Mart on William Street.  They were not able to pinpoint the cause of the smoke and blame a furnace.  Maintenance workers were going to check on it.

1:58 pm – A man was arrested at the Walden Galleria after he dragged his ex-girlfriend during a domestic disturbance.  An ambulance checked on the woman.

3:15 pm – The police conducted an assessment after a JFK student made a threat.

4:58 pm – A Dean Road resident filed a harassment report at the police station.  He said his son was being bullied because the kid was gay.

5:52 pm – The police arrested a man after he boosted a car full of merchandise from a store at the Target Plaza on Walden Avenue.

11:01 pm – A welfare check was conducted on N. Rushford Lane.  A man was slumped at the wheel of a pickup truck.  A gun was found on the man by the police, and he was later arrested.
