Emergency responders in Cheektowaga were called out to 140 calls for service on Monday, March 11, 2019.
12:47 am – A drunk driver was arrested at a traffic stop on William Street.
3:56 am – A person on Ellen Drive called the fire department because of an odor of something burning inside the home. Cleveland Hill firefighters responded to investigate and determined the smell came from a skunk outside.
7:35 am – One person on Claudette Court was ticketed for driving past a stopped school bus picking up kiddos.
8:23 am – The police talked to a 16-year-old on Campbell Road who refused to go his in-school suspension. He later agreed to go to school with his mom.
9:17 am – A natural death report was filed on Halstead Avenue after a 65-year-old man died.
10:49 am – The police were on scene while a Walden Avenue business terminated an employee that made threats against the company.
1:07 pm – A pistol was found in a snow bank on Cedar Road.
2:03 pm – A woman in mental crisis was charged with criminal mischief after a Lyft ride went bad on Pine Ridge Road. She was arrested and later transported to ECME under the state’s mental health law.
3:56 pm – One person was arrested at the Target Plaza on Walden after cutting off the pricetags to a set of headphones. Charges also included criminal possession of a weapon.
6:04 pm – Child and Family Services in Kissimmee Florida called the police to says a family from Cheektowaga was involved in a domestic incident there and they wanted to make sure the family made it home okay. Police checked an address on Ellen Drive and everything was in order.
7:58 pm – Doyle firefighters attended to burnt food in an apartment at Williamstowne Apartments.
