First responders were called out to 184 incidents on Wednesday. Here is a look at some of the calls that came into dispatchers.
1:12 am – A driver was arrested on Union Road for Possession of a Weapon, Narcotics possession, and driving without a valid registration.
8:13 am – A police report for an attempted burglary was filed at an apartment at Williamstowne. The resident was gone for a few days and found the wood casing around his door damaged.
9:46 am – A WeCare bus was involved in a crash on the westbound Kensington Expressway. One person suffered a head injury and was transported to the hospital.
12:01 pm – A pistol permit investigation was conducted for a resident on Crandon Boulevard.
4:19 pm – A person was arrested on Genesee Street for larceny. A man reported that $60 was stolen from his table when he opened his door to investigate someone screaming.
4:33 pm – An Alaska Street resident was scammed out of $2,480. A police report was filed.
6:50 pm – A natural death report was filed on Basswood Drive after an 89-year-old man died.
7:02 pm – Two people were arrested on Concord Drive during an attempted burglary.
9:08 pm – Cheektowaga Police assisted Depew Police with a pickup that refused to stop. The vehicle finally crashed into a snow bank at Union Road and George Urban in front of Howard Hanna Realty. The pickup also hit a Ford Escape on George Urban Boulevard during the chase.
