Cheektowaga Police Blotter: Monday, February 4, 2019

Emergency responders in Cheektowaga were called out to 202 calls for service on Monday, February 4, 2019.

12:10 am – A man was arrested for assault on Alpine Place after he head-butted a woman in the face.

12:56 am – A drunk driver was arrested after he was stopped by the police on Union Road.

1:56 am – Ten people were ejected from Hilton Garden Inn on Genesee Street for being disorderly, loud, and smoking in a second-floor room.

3:10 am – The police arrested one person on Windwood Court after a car hit a snow bank.  The charge was for drunk driving.

3:22 am – A state-wide missing person report was issued after a 16-year-old girl took off from her address on Genesee Street.

7:40 am – Animal control responded to an address on Ivanhoe Road after an unknown dog bedded down next to the complainant’s garage.

8:19 am – A Park Place resident surrendered 12 handguns to the police because of a court order.

10:49 am – A FedEx truck crashed into a Chevy Colorado on Gardenvillage Drive.

1:27 pm – A man was arrested on Lindbergh Court after he hit his sister several times.  He was charged with two counts of harassment.

1:44 pm – A woman at police headquarters said she took 16 barbiturate tablets and was slurring her words.  The police followed the ambulance to ECMC.

3:00 pm – An ex-tenant is believed to have stolen a sump pump from the basement of a home on Hillside Avenue.

3:14 pm – An empty safe was stolen from a home on Louise Drive.

3:42 pm – A snowblower was stolen from an address on Doat Street.

3:50 pm – An auto repair business in town reported that an employee stole over $10,000 in tools.

5:10 pm – The police spoke to an E. Melcourt Drive resident after their sump pump was discharging into a neighbor’s driveway.

5:39 pm – A radio was stolen from an unlocked truck on Pine Ridge Road.

5:43 pm – A man called the police after his girlfriend’s child called him and said mom was drunk, breaking things, and was yelling at him.  The child also called the police.  Officers responded to the Highview Road home and found the mom locked inside a bathroom.  She was putting her bloody hand under the door.  Officers gained access to the room, and she told them that she had a broken nose. She was transported to ECMC.  Grandmom came to pick up the child.

7:56 pm – Two women were arrested at the Walden Galleria after shoplifting merchandise from the H&M store.  They ran through the mall and threw the merchandise over a railing at one point.  Police arrested one subject before the other locked herself in a bathroom at Five Guys.  She was later arrested.  Charges included possession of stolen property and resisting arrest.

8:39 pm – A missing 11-year-old and 87-year-old were reunited with family members at the Walden Galleria with the help of the police department.

9:38 pm – A woman in the police cellblock complained of a hurt ankle.  An ambulance checked on the woman, but she didn’t go to the hospital.

11:09 pm – Referrals were made to Child Protective Services and the detective bureau after a sex offense was reported to the police.
