Cheektowaga Police Blotter: Monday, December 4, 2017

CHEEKTOWAGA – First responders were called to 147 incidents throughout the town on Monday, December 4, 2017.

1:32 am – The police arrested a driver on the New York State Thruway for marijuana possession and driving without a valid license.

6:28 am – Forks firefighters attended to a diesel fuel spill at the Walden Avenue Kwik Fill.  Firefighters cleaned up a 30-gallon spill.  The DEC was notified.

8:38 am – A pistol permit investigation was investigated for residents on Fawn Court and Mildred Drive.

9:31 am – A woman having an issue completing a banking transaction at Wal-Mart got into an argument because she didn’t have identification.  The police said she would work the issue out with Wal-Mart’s corporate office.

10:11 am – The police arrested a woman for shoplifting at Wal-Mart.

10:29 am – A man submitted his 8-year-old son’s urine sample for a test at a medical office on Harlem Road.  He called the police when the sample came back positive for drugs. Child Protective Services was notified by the doctor.  

11:39 am – A snow plow was stolen from an address on Ellicott Road sometime over the weekend. A police report for grand larceny was filed.

12:17 am – The police arrested a driver for drunk driving after a hit-and-run collision with a school bus on Walden Avenue.  No kids were on the bus.

1:04 pm – A police officer assist a Lou Ann Drive resident who was fast talked out of $34.95 for a magazine subscription.  The officer called the company and had the charge refunded.

1:35 pm – An ambulance transported a woman from the Regal Cinemas to Sisters Hospital for a routine medical issue.

5:04 pm – A woman and her father came into police headquarters yelling about illegal search and seizure issues by the Cheektowaga Police.  He wanted to fill out an official complaint form.  It’s not clear if the form was filled out, but a police report for information was filed.

5:15 pm – An intoxicated man walked into the lobby of the Hampton Inn on Walden Avenue saying he was lost.  When the police interviewed the man, it was determined he had an arrest warrant issued out of Niagara Falls.

7:49 pm – Three young women were arrested for shoplifting at the Walden Galleria.

8:55 pm – The 7-Eleven on French Road reported that a teen stole cigars and candy.  He ran across the street into the Gardenvillage Apartments.  A police report was filed and the detective’s bureau was notified.

9:30 pm – Hy-View firefighters investigated an oven fire at Gateway Apartments.  The fire was out when crews arrived.
