Cheektowaga Police Blotter: Monday, December 11, 2017

CHEEKTOWAGA – First responders were called out to 132 incidents on Monday. Here is a look at some of the calls that came in to dispatchers. 

12:52 pm – Call came in about a man beating his dog. He did not answer the door to the apartment when police stopped by. A note on the incident was left for the dog warden.

3:25 am – A call came in about a woman who was drunk and crying in front of Infant of Prague. A man left her out there. She was taken home by police.

8:29 am – Officers helped direct traffic on Union Road for about an hour while state DOT crews worked on fixing a traffic light.

8:40 am – A police report was filed after someone on Lloyd Drive reported someone broke into their unlocked garage overnight. They reported food was missing from their fridge. 

10:10 am – A driver was advised by an officer about their reckless driving in the Galleria parking lot.

10:16 am – South Line firefighters were called to check out a report of smoke and the smell of gas from the basement of a building on Gardenvillage Drive. National Fuel was called to the scene. There was an issue with a dryer motor. Bellevue, Twin District, and Forks all assisted.

10:19 am – A police report was filed for an unattended death on Hutchens Drive. 

12:22 pm – A police report was filed after a man called threatening to bomb the cars of employees at Endeavor Health Services. 

1:52 pm – A woman was arrested for shoplifting from Walmart.

2:00 pm – A vehicle that was reported stolen from the Town was found by Buffalo Police on Elmwood Avenue.

2:17 pm – Hy-View firefighters were called to check out an alarm at Gentran Management. The rooftop units at the business were checked. There was no sign of fire.

2:42 pm – A woman was arrested for shoplifting from Home Depot. 

2:49 pm – A tow company was called to Walden Avenue to get a trailer with Michigan plates after it was pulled over for traffic offenses. 

3:15 pm – U-Crest firefighters were called to Santin Drive to check out a CO alarm. National Fuel also responded to the scene. There were elevated CO levels found. It was due to a faulty stove in the basement.

3:22 pm – Bellevue firefighters were called to check on a CO alarm on Redoak Drive. They did not find any elevated readings.

3:52 pm – Police were called to a mini-mart on William Street due to a fight outside the store. One of the men allegedly got out of a car and attacked a customer before driving away from the scene. A police report was filed for assault. 

4:58 pm – A police report was filed after a woman said someone broke the tail light on her car. She said her vehicle was also scratched and someone put screws in her tires.

5:52 pm – Pine Hill firefighters helped extricate a woman who was trapped inside her car after a crash on Harlem Road. She signed off on medical treatment.

9:15 pm – The cleaning staff at a dentist’s office on Union Road called 911 to report two strange vehicles behind the building. They said men were in the back shining flashlights around the area. It turned out NYS Animal Rehab sedated a fawn and were taking her back into the woods.

9:28 pm – A police report was filed after someone reported a tire slashing on Aurora Drive.

10:01 pm – A call came in from the Quality Inn by the airport. A man said he went online looking for a massage. He said the woman who showed up at his hotel room was not the woman from the photos. He suspected it was a prostitution ad. He didn’t want a prostitute. He was actually looking for a massage. They were both advised.

10:41 pm – Sloan firefighters were called to Lovejoy Street. A man fell in the street and was believed to have broken his leg. He refused treatment.
