First responders attended to 231 calls for service on August 6, 2018.
1:16 am – Patrol pulled over a moped driving down the middle of French Road.
2:58 am – A resident of Treehaven Road said $10 was stolen from her vehicle.
4:50 am – The police responded to Harlem Road to try and catch a loose dog running around. Patrol found the dog deceased on top of the Sloan Skyway. The dog lived on Reo Avenue.
7:41 am – A Beach Road resident said her garage was burglarized. Credit cards and a 2009 Chevy Equinox was stolen. The credit cards were later used in Amherst.
8:14 am – Dog Control and patrol assisted a raccoon on W. Nantucket. The animal had a soup can on its head. The can was removed.
8:15 am – A Reo Avenue resident upset over the death of his dog called the police wanting to speak to a grief counselor. He was provided the number to Crisis Services.
10:18 am – A stolen Toyota Camry was recovered on the 2200 block of Walden Avenue.
12:26 pm – A mulch fire extended into the eves of Cash for Cans of Harlem Road at Parker Street. The fire scene was attended to within a half-hour.
1:26 pm – The police attended to a hit-and-run crash on Rosewood Terrace. A 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee took out a yield sign struck a tree. The two women inside the car fled on foot. They were later found at St. Joes seeking medical treatment.
5:05 pm – U-Crest firefighters responded to the eastbound I-90 for a three-car crash. Three people were evaluated. One person was transported to the hospital.
6:11 pm – Three drivers were ticketed for speeding on Como Park Boulevard.
6:32 pm – A Ford Econoline being towed by an AAA tow truck fell off the truck and struck a Nissan Altima on French Road. No one was hurt.
7:04 pm – A female driver for Partner’s Pizzeria delivered food to a customer last week, and now he keeps harassing the restaurant wanting to talk to her. The man is also texting her phone. She did not give the number to him but called him from it while she was delivering the food. An attempt was made to contact the subject.
7:13 pm – A Danbury Drive resident admitted to the police that they spayed chemicals on a neighbor’s bush to kill it. The neighbor did not press charges this time but will if it happens again.
7:49 pm – Two vehicles in a driveway on Miami Parkway were gone through over the weekend and items were stolen from both.
9:09 pm – U-Crest firefighters spend a half-hour trying to find the source of an odor of something burning inside a home on Harris Court. They determined a pot handle on the stove melted.
10:04 pm – Patrol assisted Lancaster Police as they tried to locate a larceny suspect in the area of Giele Avenue. It was not noted if the suspect was found.
