Cheektowaga Police Blotter: Monday, April 9, 2018

Cheektowaga first responders were called to 120 incidents on Monday. The following is a look at some of the issues. 

3:08 am – A man on Genesee Street was taken to ECMC after swallowing crack.

7:00 am – A rear window was broken on an office on Benbro Drive and items were taken from inside. The scene was turned over to a CSI crew. 

7:59 am – Someone broke into an auto shop on Harlem Road and stole money. 

9:40 am – A police report was filed after a woman reported that her deceased husband’s gun is missing. 

9:57 am – Police were called to Cheektowaga Central about an apparent threat from a student. Everyone was spoken to including the parents and the school. It was just a comment and not an actual threat. 

1:16 pm – Police were called to deal with an issue between neighbors over parking spots on Manko Drive. One neighbor wrote over another neighbor’s window with a permanent marker. They were able to reach a compromise. 

1:56 pm – South Line firefighters had to force their way into a home to help a 26-year old man who fell down the stairs and fractured his knee. He was taken to ECMC for treatment.

2:43 pm – Someone on N. Meadowbrook Parkway called to report jewelry was stolen from their home. It doesn’t look like a burglary – police suspect the items were taken by someone who had access to the house. A police report was filed for grand larceny. 

6:27 pm – Police got a call from Diane Drive that kids found a bone that “appears to be human”. They checked it out. It was an animal bone. 

7:10 pm – A driver was pulled over on Union Road for narcotics and arrested on a warrant out of Depew. 

7:25 pm – A caller from the Dollar General on Union Road said a man was making a scene in the store and said he was going to shoot the caller. The man said he had a gun in his vehicle. He ended up checking out and leaving before police arrived. A police report was filed for information.
