Cheektowaga fire companies raise $8,000 for Variety Club

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. – Two volunteer fire companies raised over $8,000 for the kids at the Variety Club of Buffalo.

Members from Doyle Hose Company #2 and Bellevue Fire Department presented their donations Sunday during the annual Variety Kids Telethon on WKBW-TV.

Doyle held a “Fill the Boot” campaign on March 18th at the intersection of Harlem Road and William Street.  They raised $5,820.42 from passing motorists.

Bellevue held their “Fill the Boot” campaign on March 26th at Como Park Boulevard and Transit Road.  They raised around $2,400 from passing motorists.

The 55th annual Variety Kids Telethon raised $1,025,777 for children’s charities.
