CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. – The Cheektowaga Central School District announces that kindergarten registration for the 2017-2018 school year will begin March 28th.
All children who live in the district and will turn 5-years-old by December 1, 2017 are eligible to attend Kindergarten in the district.
Registration is by appointment only. Parents and guardians of new students are asked to call the registrar of students at 686-3665 or email Registration@ccsd-k12.org to request a registration packet and schedule an appointment.
Children who are already registered and attending the district’s universal per-kindergarten program will be streamlined.
“If you registered your child in the District to attend UPK, you will not need to re-register your child to attend kindergarten, as long as they are a current student,” said Libby Maeder, the district registrar.
Some parents may need to submit additional documentation, including parents who moved during the previous school year. Those parents will be notified by the registrar.
Parents of UPK students in the Cheektowaga Central School District will receive an informational mailing in early March outlining the UPK-to-kindergarten enrollment process. The mailing includes a letter and a brief questionnaire for parents or guardians to complete and return to the registrar.
Registration will be ongoing throughout the spring and summer.
