Celebrate: Flag Day and Crabapple Festival this weekend

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. – The Town of Cheektowaga has released the details about their Crabapple Festival and Flag Day celebrations this upcoming weekend.

Saturday, June 10th

  • Cheektowaga Crabapple Festival and Food Truck Caravan at Cheektowaga Town Park from  4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Live music by Last Call and Food Truck Caravan featuring: “Souped Up”; “Maria’s Bene Cibo Italian Cuisine”; “Das Wafel”; “Tuk Tea Company”; and “Buffalo’s Best Grill”.   The Food Truck Caravan is the first event of this size to come to Cheektowaga due to the large number of residents requesting food trucks at events and functions across the town.  Animals from Messinger Woods Wildlife Care & Education Center, Inc. will also be on display.
  • The Town has partnered with Reinstein Woods Nature Preserve for “Get Outdoors! Community Day” scheduled for 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the nature preserve located at 93 Honorine Drive, Depew, NY 14043.  Come explore traditional and non-traditional outdoor activities.  The event is free and family-friendly. 

Sunday, June 11th 

  • Commemoration Ceremony at the War of 1812 Cemetery on Aero Drive.  The program begins at 11:30 a.m. to honor the soldiers buried at the site.  A reception will follow at American Legion Francis J. Donovan Post 1626, 3210 Genesee Street in Cheektowaga. 
  • At 6:45 p.m., the Cheektowaga Symphony Orchestra performs a Flag Day concert with the Cleveland Hill High School Jazz Ensemble at Town Park.  Fireworks conclude the weekend celebration at dusk.
