CHEEKTOWAGA – Benderson Development has submitted plans to redevelop the former Kmart site on Walden Avenue across from the Walden Galleria shopping complex.

The development company proposes to build a four-building shopping center which will integrate with the property currently home to the Mighty Taco restaurant according to an application submitted to the Town of Cheektowaga.

A 15,652 square feet commercial building could be built to the east next to Jim Truck’s Stop.  A 20,088 square feet commercial building could be built to the south.  Two proposed retail/restaurant buildings are proposed near Walden Avenue ranging from 4,158 and 6,750 square feet.

The project is in its infant stages and must be approved by several layers of town government before the project could be started.
