CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. – A fallen power line has knocked out power to an estimated 2,165 NYSEG customers in the area of South Cheektowaga and West Seneca.

The line fell to the ground around 10:15 a.m. Thursday, blocking traffic on Red Oak Drive and sparking a small grass fire.  The fire did not impact any homes.

Major intersections around the area were placed on generator power.

An NYSEG crew is working to fix the problem.  The estimated restoration time was listed as 5:00 p.m. according to NYSEG’s outage map.
