(Submitted) – YMCA Buffalo Niagara will host its annual Healthy Kids Day event on Saturday, April 29th to inspire children to stay physically and intellectually active all summer long. This free event is open to the community and includes fun activities such as family fitness classes, healthy snacks, arts and crafts, bounce houses, sports and games, face painting, and much more. Children and parents throughout Western New York are encouraged to stop by any of YMCA Buffalo Niagara’s eight branches from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm and take part in Healthy Kids Day.
Families have the opportunity to learn what summer camp at the Y is all about, with YMCA camp staff available to answer questions. Parents can reserve their child’s spot and save on the registration fee the weekend of April 28-30, with only a $10 deposit per camper, per week required for day camp, and a $50 deposit per camper, per session required for overnight camp. Plus, families can save more as the Y is waiving the join fee for anyone who joins during the Healthy Kids Day weekend.
“When a child is healthy, happy, and motivated, they are bound to grow into thriving adults,” says Penny Snell, Association Director of Child Care Operations for YMCA Buffalo Niagara. “We believe all children have potential, and we strive to help kids find that potential within themselves. Healthy Kids Day is a great opportunity to both educate families and motivate kids to realize their potential bystaying active in spirit, mind and body throughout the summer.”
