CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. – For the second time in a little over a week, a serial arsonist lit a set of dumpsters on fire at two different locations in the Cleveland Hill Fire District Sunday afternoon.

Two dumpsters behind the Cleveland Hill schools on Mapleview Road and two behind St. Aloysius Gonzaga R.C. Church on Cleveland Drive were ignited almost simultaneously just after 3 pm. Firefighters from Cleveland Hill and Pine Hill extinguished the flames.

A law enforcement source at the scene tells Cheektowaga Chronicle that eyewitnesses saw a boy between 9-12-years-old fleeing the school property.  He is white, has dirty blonde hair, and was on roller blades.  His description matches those of eyewitnesses last week as well.

Last week we reported in the police blotter that firefighters extinguished a dumpster fire behind St. Aloysius around 8 pm Friday.  Twenty-four hours later, two dumpsters behind Cleveland Hill schools were set on fire.

If you have any information that could help the police catch the young arsonist or if you see suspicious activity near any area dumpsters, please call police immediately.
