CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. – The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation will hold a 5K Run along Como Park Boulevard this September.

The Town Board approved the event’s Special Event Application at Tuesday night’s meeting. The event will be held on September 9, 2017, starting at 9:00 a.m. at the Bellevue Fire Hall.

The race will start at the fire hall, move along Como Park Boulevard into Stiglmeier Park and back onto Como Park Boulevard ending back at the fire hall.

The Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk Series was created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter who lost his life on September 11, 2001, after strapping on his gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers.
