CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. – One item at Tuesday’s town board meeting was the public hearing for Raymour and Flanigan to open up an outlet store in the town of Cheektowaga.

The plan is for the company to open up a shop on the site of its existing warehouse, at 2685 Walden Avenue. That’s across the street from the Walmart.

Councilmember James Rogowski describes the plan, “a business for the average joe, people just coming out of college who would like to buy quality furniture at a reasonable price.”

The warehouse, which houses furniture that’s delivered from orders made in the two Cheektowaga stores will stay as a major part of the building. The front of the building will be cleaned up and renovated and turned into the new outlet store concept.

“It’s all brand new product,” says Scott Milnamow, Raymour and Flanigan’s Sr. VP of Real Estate, “it will just be at a lower price point.”

The company says right now it has no plans to shut down either of it’s stores in the town of Cheektowaga. One is further up at 1650 Walden Avenue, near Lumber Liquidators. The other is on Galleria Drive at Union Road.

The project is expected to be voted on by the town council at its next meeting in a couple weeks.
