Police investigate robbery at Transit Road Noco Express

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. – Cheektowaga Police arrested a man they think robbed a South Cheektowaga gas station late Saturday night.

Police investigated a reported robbery at the Noco Express Shop located at the corner of Transit Road and Como Park Boulevard at 10:29 p.m. Saturday.

According to information in the Cheektowaga Police Blotter, a white man, wearing a plastic bag over his head, robbed the store and assaulted the clerk before fleeing north on Transit Road in a car.  A weapon was not displayed.

Witnesses were able to grab the suspect’s license plate information as he drove away.  The information was sent to other law enforcement agencies, and the car was pulled over by Buffalo Police one half-hour later on Broadway near Deshler Street.

Cheektowaga Police responded to the traffic stop and arrested the man.  Suburban Towing towed the vehicle to a secured impound lot at police headquarters.

The case was turned over to the Detective’s Bureau.
