BUFFALO, N.Y. – Cheektowaga Police engaged in a short vehicle pursuit that ended in the City of Buffalo Tuesday night.

A police officer attempted to pull over a Chevrolet Trailblazer near Eggert Road and Langfield Drive around 8:30 p.m. according to information in the Cheektowaga Police Blotter.

The vehicle did not stop and took off west on Langfield Drive and then south on Edison Avenue.  Just as a police supervisor ordered the patrol car to terminate the pursuit, the driver of the Trailblazer bailed out and began running through the yards on Edison.

An eyewitness who lives on Edison told Cheektowaga Chronicle that she saw the pursuit coming southbound down the street.  She said it appeared that the driver bailed out because another vehicle saw the police car and pulled over blocking street.

Police pursued the man for a short time through the yards around 124 Edison Avenue but later lost him.

A law enforcement source tells Cheektowaga Chronicle that the vehicle had outstanding suspensions.

The vehicle was towed to an impound space at police headquarters.
