U-Crest and Hy-View firefighters rescued the man from the car, placed him in a stokes basket and carried him up the steep embankment to the ambulance.

A law enforcement source tells Cheektowaga Chronicle that the man was driving westbound on George Urban Boulevard.  The driver crossed over eastbound traffic hitting another vehicle, drove across a lawn and down into the creek.  He told police he coughed and passed out right before the crash and woke up in the creek with chest pains.

The man was transported to Erie County Medical Center.

First Choice towing used two trucks to recover the vehicle.  A small fluid leak was contained using a special cloth dam.
