CHEEKTOWAGA – Several emergency agencies responded to Interstate 90 Sunday morning to attend to a jackknifed tractor-trailer.

A State Police spokesperson tells Cheektowaga Chronicle that a tractor-trailer was traveling westbound on I-90 when the driver lost control due to unsafe speeds.  The rig jackknifed and went off the highway just past the on-ramp to I-190 northbound.

The truck sustained a fuel leak and lost approximately 100 gallons of diesel fuel.

Doyle Hose firefighters, Cheektowaga Police, and Cheektowaga’s Emergency Management Coordinator responded to the scene.  State Police and the DEC’s Spill Response and Remediation team also responded.

The driver was not hurt in the crash.  The State Police issued several traffic tickets.
