CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. – A man wanted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement was arrested at Sky Harbor Thursday afternoon.

Cheektowaga Police officers were called after the man showed up to the development’s corporate offices at 4925 Genesee Street around 1:18 p.m. according to the Cheektowaga Police Blotter.

The man, who is not a resident of the community, was paying the rent of a friend who lives on Tammy Lane according to a source with firsthand knowledge of the incident.

“We just had immigration officers come in a few weeks ago saying they were looking for him and they had a lead that led him to here,” said the source.

A media representative from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement who was working Friday to verify arrest details did not provide additional information to Cheektowaga Chronicle at the time of publication Friday evening.
