Genesee Street crash sends three to the hospital

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. – A two-car crash snarled afternoon traffic and sent three people to the hospital Monday.

It happened around 4 p.m. at the intersection of Genesee Street and Transit Road between a Hyundai and a Corvette.

Two women and a man were transported to Erie County Medical Center and Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital.

A tow truck operator with Miller’s Towing & Service was treated at the scene for a chemical burn while flat bedding the Corvette.

Westbound traffic on Genesee Street was diverted for around an hour while crews attended to the scene.

Hy-View requested an engine from Bowmansville in Lancaster to help at the wreck.

Cheektowaga Police and NFTA Police helped with traffic control and the crash report.
