CHEEKTOWAGA – The McGuire Group, operator of the Garden Gate Health Care Center on Union Road honors two employees who have reached longevity in their careers.
Rachel Bezak of West Seneca, NY celebrated her 20-year employment anniversary with the company. As a dietary aide, Ms. Bezak is responsible for supporting the health and well-being of residents through food preparation, serving of meals and resident satisfaction. She also conducts cleaning related tasks. She is a graduate of West Seneca East High School.
Barb Johnson of Clarence celebrated her 5-year employment anniversary with the company. As the director of The McGuire Group’s Journeys palliative care program, Mrs. Johnson is responsible for program development and supervision, hiring and training, hosting support groups as well as presenting information within the community about the program. The Journeys program is available at The McGuire Group’s four Erie County facilities including: Autumn View Health Care Facility in Hamburg, Garden Gate Health Care Facility in Cheektowaga, Harris Hill Nursing Facility in Lancaster and Seneca Health Care Center in West Seneca.
Mrs. Johnson holds a bachelor of science degree in psychology and gerontology from the University at Buffalo. She is a member of ACPEL, Advanced Care Planning & End of Life, and SWHPN, Social Work Hospice & Palliative Care Network. She resides with her husband Tim and has three sons in college, Erik, Matt and Nick. All three of her children are runners. In her spare time, she enjoys walking her dogs.
