Cheektowaga woman admits to New Years Day homicide

BUFFALO – A Cheektowaga woman pleaded guilty to Manslaughter in the First Degree for her involvement in a homicide this past January.

Nadiyah Whitaker, 32, admitted to fatally shooting Shanna Mason, 30, of Sloan, at 250 Gold Street in the city of Buffalo on January 1, 2017, according to the Erie County District Attorney’s Office.

She faces a maximum of 25 years in prison when she is sentenced by Judge Franczyk on December 11, 2017, at 9:30 am.

District Attorney John Flynn commends the investigative work of Buffalo Police Homicide Detectives Michael Mordino, Timothy Salamone, Richard Wagstaff, and homicide Bureau Chief Colleen Curtin Gable who prosecuted the case.
