Cheektowaga Police officer deploys Taser on suspect resisting arrest

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. – A Cheektowaga Police officer had to deploy his Taser to subdue a suspect during a foot chase Thursday night.

Three teens were trying to break into a camper on Paradise Court at 10:19 pm according to police records.  Unable to gain entry, the trio walked away on Freda in the direction of The Ave.

Police officers were able to detain two of the suspects, but the third gave chase through the yards around McParlin Avenue and Paradise Court.  He was later subdued near McParlin and Paradise.  Police say the suspect was Tased because he was resisting arrest.

An ambulance was requested to check on the suspect but was later canceled.  Cheektowaga Chronicle observed the young man walking and talking with police officers.

Two bicycles and a backpack were found in a yard on Paradise Court Friday morning.
