CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. – The Cheektowaga Police Department attended to 158 calls on Monday, May 15, 2017. The following is a brief report of some of the calls they received according to the Cheektowaga Police blotter.

  • 12:09 am – Police filed out a police report and took photos after a woman said her car was keyed in the parking lot of Tryst Gentleman’s Club on Aero Drive.
  • 12:18 am – An intoxicated woman was sent home in a cab after Pharaohs Gentleman’s Club call police to report customer trouble.
  • 4:14 am – An arrest was made during a traffic stop on the 900 block of Cleveland Drive. Police charged the driver with unlicensed operation and for false impersonation. The driver also had a bench warrant out of Buffalo.
  • 7:20 am – A police report was filed after Erie County Child Protection Services notified police about a possible sex abuse case.
  • 8:07 am – Pistol permit investigations were conducted for residents on Chapel Avenue, West Melcourt Drive and Autumnwood Drive.
  • 8:10 am – A resident on Gualbert Avenue reported being threatened by a neighbor.
  • 9:29 am – Police checked on an emotional elderly woman on Freda Avenue after she called 911 crying. She will be going into a nursing home and just needed to talk to patrol.
  • 11:58 am – A trucker with a Maine registration was arrested at a NYS DOT checkpoint on Walden Avenue for a log book violation.
  • 12:19 pm – Police are called to the Towneplace Suites. A man was charged with smoking in the room, and now he is calling the hotel and threatening them. The man then called and said an unknown employee stole a $1,500 watch while he was staying at the hotel. He said he would come to police headquarters from Niagara Falls to file a report. A police report was filed for harassment.
  • 1:24 pm – A motorist breaks down on Broadway. They ran out of gas. Police realize the man has a warrant out of West Seneca. Two people were arrested. A man on narcotics charges, and a woman on aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. 
  • 2:12 pm – Police were called over to Town Hall. A woman was upset with sidewalks not being shoveled in the winter. She was advised by police and sent on her way. 
  • 2:15 pm – A town contractor called to report a strong smell of marijuana in a garage on Ellen Drive. A woman was arrested with trespassing. 
  • 2:29 pm – Southline firefighters are called to Garden Gate on Union Road. It ended up being a fire alarm set off by construction workers.
  • 2:50 pm – Cleveland Hill firefighters were sent to a home on Windwood Court. A CO detector alarm was going off. The issue seems to be a faulty detector. 
  • 2:54 pm – Police were called to Wallace Avenue to deal with a neighbor dispute. One man called to say the woman from next door came onto his property. There is a history of disputes between the two for years. A police report was filed. 
  • 3:48 pm – A caller says a man is trying to open car doors in the parking lot of the Family Dollar on Genesee Street. The man was gone when police got to the scene. Drivers were spoken with, and nothing was taken out of their cars. 
  • 3:51 pm – Police were called to a house on Pinevale Court. There was an issue with a 12-year-old in the house. It appears to be an ongoing problem. Everyone was advised by police. 
  • 4:16 pm – Firefighters from Rescue Hose and ambulance crews were called to the Monroe Muffler on Harlem Road and Walden Avenue for a drug overdose. A man was found out passed out in a vehicle in the lot. The 25-year-old man was given narcan, and taken to St. Joe’s. 
  • 4:22 pm – A mother called police to say her son’s step mother has been hitting the 10-year-old. It turns out the son embellished the story a bit, and the mom and step mom do not get along. Everyone was advised. 
  • 4:35 pm – Police were called out to Hedwig Avenue near Walden. There were cars parked on both sides of the street, and a basketball set up in the street. Everyone was moving when cars drove by. 
  • 4:41 pm – A caller said three 15-year-olds were sitting in the pavilion at Kelly Park drinking Bud Light. No one was found at the shelter. 
  • 5:06 pm – A person at the Holiday Inn on Genesee Street says a couple nights ago someone went into his room and took cash. A police report is filed.
  • 5:27 pm – Driver was pulled over on Walden Avenue. They ended up getting arrested for marijuana possession. 
  • 5:31 pm – A person living apartments on Gardenvillage Drive called to complain about their neighbor – specifically noise, theft, and suspicious behavior. Both apartments were advised by police. 
  • 5:34 pm – In another apartment in Gardenvillage Drive, a father wants his 24-year-old daughter out of the house. She packed up and left for the night.
  • 5:45 pm – A call came in from the Comfort Inn on Dick Road. Two men were fighting in the parking lot, while another man ran from the scene. Cheektowaga Police were called to assist the Erie County Sheriff’s Office in serving a search warrant. Everyone ended up up in custody. Officers ended up looking in the field for items that may have been dumped by the suspect who ran from the scene. 
  • 7:23 pm – A man and woman were arrested at Walmart on Walden Avenue for shoplifting. 
  • 7:31 pm – A call came in from Henry Street. A woman says she was hit by another woman, and now she’s upset. Both the women were separated by the time police got to the scene. It ended up being custody issues between a husband and his ex. Everyone was advised. 
  • 8:04 pm – A woman on Creekside Drive called to say her boyfriend was outside kicking garbage cans and making a mess. Everyone was spoken to. 
  • 8:43 pm – A deputy in Ohio called saying a person in Ohio called them concerned about a message they saw on Facebook. The message said someone in Cheektowaga was going to drug and kill her whole family tonight. Officers made contact with the person in town, she has a long history with CPD. The Facebook post was made because she’s upset with her brother’s friend staying at the house. The family was set up with a person at Crisis Services for more intensive help. 
  • 9:10 pm – A woman was arrested for shoplifting at Walden Galleria.
  • 10:43 pm – Some people are kicked out of a room at the Millennium Hotel due to suspected prostitution.
